Janeet Angel Reed

     Janeet Angel Reed, 76, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 30, 2023 at Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division following a long illness.

     Born December 9, 1946 at Ramp she was a daughter of the late Robert and Annie Francis Clay Hicks.

     Janeet was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Summers County.  She loved growing her roses and being “grandma” to everyone.  Janeet enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and spoiling her “grandchildren.”

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Reed Sr.; one brother, Lewis Levi Hicks and four sisters, Hazel Weidenhoft, Delores Hundley, Glenna Adkins and Ginger Wills.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Alvin Reed Jr. and Shirlene Johnson, Ivan Reed and Donna Davis, George Reed and wife Martha, Jerry Reed, Jeremy Reed and wife Josie, Washington Reed and Matthew Reed; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother, Samuel Hicks; one sister, Helene Rizzuto; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and a special friend, Linda Steers.

     Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Pastor John Boothe officiating. Burial will follow in the O’Bryan Cemetery at Hix. Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
