James W. Martin Sr., 66, of Madams Creek went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Born March 1, 1950 at Hinton he was a son of the late Oliver Grimmett and Daisy Martin Tate.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nora Martin; son, Junior Martin; grandson, Dakota Vandall and several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Jessica Windon and companion Jason Quick of Wytheville, VA; four grandchildren, Cory and Kayley Martin and Gracie and Dannon Windon ; five sisters, Linda Vest of Hinton, Alice Fleshman and husband Richard of Alderson, Sharon Tate of Hinton, Evelyn Young and husband Rick of Hinton and Lisa Tate and companion Bobby Gore of Hinton; two brothers, Woodrow Meeks and wife Carlina of Hinton and Paul Tate Jr. of Beckley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Friday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
