India Brown

India "Peepsie" Beatrice Allen Brown, 89, of Hinton went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House.
Born December 13, 1926 in Summers County she was a daughter of the late Grover C. Allen Sr. and India B. Light Allen.
India was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hinton. She had worked for the FBI in Washington, DC during World War II earning a Certificate of Honorable War Service, she was a cook at Greenbrier school, worked at Hick's Floral Shop, Dr. P.B. Camara's Office, Pipestem State Park Gift Shop as gift shop supervisor and for the Summers County Convention and Visitors Bureau at the Hinton Railroad Museum. India was a member of Hinton BPW, Eastern Star Chapter #5 and United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Brown Jr.; three brothers, James, Grover "Junior" and John Allen and seven sisters, Wanda Strecker, Emma Massie, Laura Jane Fink Conner, Barbara Stennett, Evelyn Allen, Mary Lou Mason and Clarice Allen.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Royce "Brownie" Brown and wife Judy of Hinton and John Brown and wife Rose of Prospect, KY; grandchildren, David Brown, Jennifer VanEss and husband Nick, Jacquelyn Brown and Jonathan Brown; great grandchildren, Evan and Jackson Brown; dear friend, Dale McLaughlin and special nieces and nephews, Sue Pattie, Edwin Stennett and wife Beverly, David Stennett and wife Linda, Brenda Doyle and Karen Pumphrey and husband Skip.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Melissa White officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery at Ronceverte. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at the funeral parlors on Saturday.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bowers Hospice House for all the kindness and all the friends for the calls and prayers.
