Howard Pack Jr.

Howard C. “Ponky” Pack Jr., 66, of River Ridge went to be with the Lord, January 8, 2020 at Cottingham Hospice House following a long illness.

Born December 29, 1953 at River Ridge he was the son of the late Howard C. and Orene Neely Pack.  He was of the Baptist Faith and a former employee of R.T. Rogers Oil Company who enjoyed construction work, working on cars and fishing.  Ponky was a graduate of Hinton High School who served his country in the United States Army and the West Virginia Army National Guard.  He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend.

Preceded in death by one brother, Edmund Pack.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Richard Pack and wife Cherish of Mountain Rest, SC; four daughters, Lynn Whitt and husband David of Irmo, SC, Rhonda Saunders of VA, Charlotte Nelson and husband Scotty of VA and Heather Pack and fiancé Corey Miller of Pipestem; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Pack and wife Juanita of MD and Gary Pack and wife Jo Ann of River Ridge; three sisters, Joyce Lyon and husband Denzil of Pipestem, Betty Nichols and husband Fred of Pipestem and Brenda Neely of Pipestem and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday January 14, 2020 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery on River Ridge.  Friends may call from 5-7 pm Monday January 13, 2020 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
