Goldie Faye Ward

Goldie Faye Ward, 67, of Hinton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Born February 24, 1959 in Hinton to the late Doug and Garnet Meador Cox. Goldie loved her family above all else. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends. Goldie was an employee of Summers Healthcare Center for 23 years.

Preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Richard “Buddy” Ward; one son, Jonathan Ward; two sisters, Shelvia Beheler and Sadie Grimmett; three brothers, Osbey Cox, Roy Cox and Clarence “Junior” Cox.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Ward Jr. of Hinton and Justin (Ashley) Ward of Caldwell, OH; six grandchildren, Carrie, Albert, Pamela, Katelyn, Parker, and Hayden; two great grandchildren, Neveah and Willow; five siblings, Sylvia Howard of Stafford, VA, Joyce (Cecil) Fox of Hinton, Linda Osborne of Beckley, Charles Cox of Hinton and Sandra (Frank) Lane of Hinton; sister-in-law, Sue Cox of Hinton; many nieces and nephews which include Candi Cox and Eric Cox both of Hinton.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt and Alfon Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Cales Cemetery on Chestnut Mtn. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
