Garland Tyree

Garland Marshall Tyree, 76, of Nimitz, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2005 at his home, following a long illness. Born April 28, 1929 at Hinton, he was the son of the late George Tyree and Lalon Richmond Tyree Ellison. Garland was a retired conductor for the C&O and CSX Railroad with 40 years of service, he was a member of the UTU, he served 4 years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Yellowstone and was a member of the First Christian Church in Hinton where he served as an Elder. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Willis and Patty Ames. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Lorene Lilly Tyree, two daughters, Terri Meador and husband Gary of Hinton and Janie Keaton and husband Mike of Jumping Branch, four grandchildren, Chad Meador and wife Megan, Lindsay Keaton, Todd Meador and wife Stacey and Jordan Keaton, three great grandchildren, Trent, Marlee and Liv Meador. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the First Christian Church in Hinton with Minister Gary Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until time of service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Southern WV, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802.
Viewing Information: Family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Funeral Information: 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 18, 2005 at the First Christian Church in Hinton.
