Everett Hunt

Everett "Lee" Hunt, 76, of Nimitz passed away May 18, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a short illness.
Born May 19, 1940 at Belle he was a son of the late Elzie L. and Lula M. Messer Hunt.
Lee was retired from the U.S. Marine Corp. with 20 years of service, a member of the Hinton Masonic Lodge AM&FM Lodge #62, former Hinton Chief of Police, former Summers County Deputy Sheriff, a volunteer at the VAMC in Beckley and a former employee of Angell's Feed in Nimitz. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, horses and spending time with family and friends.
Lee was preceded in death by one sister, Lula Belle Hunt.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dottie Hunt of Nimitz; two sons, Michael (Keri) Hunt of Oxford, MS and Joseph Hunt of MS; one daughter, Dottie (Greg) Kessler of Nimitz; two stepdaughters, Melissa Richards and Sarah (Wesley) Childs; nine grandchildren, Blair (Cody) Pruitt, LeAnna (Justin) Smith, Mary Micah Hunt, Kathy Hunt, Teri-Jo Hunt, Remington Kessler, Gregory Kessler Jr., Jonathan Kessler, Joanna Kessler; stepgrandchildren, Emma Crook, Richard Cales, Ryan Cales, Lyndzee Childs and Loryn Childs; three great grandchildren, Levi Pruitt, Mary Peyton Smith, Darcy Pruitt and two expected great grandchildren; one step great grandson, Avery Crook and special friend, Zina Angell.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Bluestone Baptist Church with Pastor Sonny Angell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral parlors.
The Hinton Masonic Lodge AM&FM Lodge #62 will serve as pallbearers and be in charge of graveside rites.

Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
