Evelyn H. Young

     Evelyn H. Young, 74, of Hinton went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 12, 2023 following a long illness.

     Born March 19, 1949 she was a daughter of the late Oliver Grimmett and Daisy Tate.

     Evelyn was a homemaker and a life long resident of Summers County. She enjoyed watching westerns, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

     Evelyn was preceded in death by her two sons, Jamie Gill and Christopher Allen Gill; six sisters, Connie “Sandy” Bynog, Martha “Louella” Tate, Sharon Tate, Margaret “Big” Tate, Linda Vest and Anna “Lisa” Tate and three brothers, Hobert “Gimmy” Martin, Jack Martin and James Martin.

     Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Vicky Thompson and husband Timothy of Camp Creek; two sons, Timothy Gill of Camp Creek and Michael Allen Gill and wife Sherri of Hinton; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Fleshman and Rebecca Romanello; two brothers, Paul Tate Jr. and Woody Meeks and several nieces and nephews.

     At Evelyn’s request her body has been entrusted to Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and Cremation Care Center for cremation.  There will be no services.
