Emily Briers

Emily Dale Keaton Briers passed from this life to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 24, 2017 following a long illness.
Born August 27, 1938 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Berma "Bunch" Honaker Keaton and O. Ike Keaton.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Ronald L. Keaton, sister-in-law Rita Richey Keaton, and infant grandson Christopher N. Briers.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years Charles "Scott" Briers, Jr. and their three children, Greg Briers and wife Kelly of Huntington, Jeff Briers and wife Carolyn of Crystal River, FL, and daughter Susan Briers Boland and husband Mitchell of Shady Spring. Also left to cherish her memory are her nine beloved grandchildren, Grant and Delaney Briers, Sam Walters and Heather Shannon, Amy and Aaron Briers, Casey Boland and wife Shanda, Elyse and Allyson Boland; her four sweet great grandchildren, Sarah and Aiden Walters, Ava Briers, and Addilynd Boland; and her special niece and nephew, Karen Lind and Ron Keaton, Jr.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church and a current member of Miller Memorial Methodist. Emily graduated from Hinton High School in 1956 and was a lifelong resident of Summers County. She was active in her church and involved in numerous civic and community organizations. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was an avid collector of Hallmark ornaments.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December the 30th at Miller Memorial Methodist in Bellpoint with the Reverend Betty Shields officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at noon with the service starting at 2PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to Miller Memorial Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
