Eldridge Richmond

Eldridge M. â??Shortyâ?? Richmond, 81, of Hix, died Monday, November 28, 2005 at his home. Born January 31, 1924 at Hix, he was the son of the late Noah C. and Clara F. Brown Richmond. Mr. Richmond was a lifelong resident of Hix. He was a retired employee of the C&O Railroad and a lifelong farmer and timberman. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mildred E. Grimmett Richmond, one son, Ronald Ray Richmond, three brothers; Ernest and Everette Richmond and Earl Phipps and one sister, Evelyn Sears. Survived by his wife, Anna Jean Basham Richmond of Hix, two sons; Charles Richmond and wife Imogene of Hix and Noah C. â??Rogerâ?? Richmond and wife Mary of Hix, seven granddaughters, Mary Ann, Doris Jean, Lisa Carol, Mary Lynn, Ann Marie, Patricia and Rhonda Rae, eight great grandchildren; Tyler, Brittany, Kati, Nichole, Brooke, Hailey, Joseph Miles and Dakota, one brother, Willard Richmond of Hinton, and two sisters, Geraldine Buckland and Lorene Adkins both of Hinton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Melvin Wills officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Friday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
