Edwin Ray Ward, 67, of Hilldale passed away January 7, 2018 at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
Born April 8, 1950 at Hinton he was a son of the late Hayward Norman Ward and Verna Mae Williams Voiers.
Edwin was a member of Bellepoint Baptist Church and attended Little Wolf Creek Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving as an aircraft mechanic and managing officers clubs. He was also a former restaurant manager of various restaurants. Edwin enjoyed NASCAR racing, watching television, playing string instruments and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dale N. Ward.
Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Angela Roop and husband Chad of Fredericksburg, VA and Gerri Ellen Hamilton and husband Rodney of AL; four grandchildren, Stephen and Mary Beth Roop, Arianna Hamilton and Emily Moore; one sister, Linda McGraw of Hilldale and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral parlors. A private burial will follow at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
