Edith Catheline Hall Sears, 90, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Born August 6, 1927 at Sod, WV she was a daughter of the late James Garfield and Lucy Jane Snodgrass Hall.
Edith was a member of Riverview Chapel. She was a devoted homemaker. Edith was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who was loved by all who knew her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard N. Sears; one great granddaughter, Kristen Azzaro; six sisters; six brothers and three sons in law, Avery Dale Bragg, Roger Harris and Mack Rader.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Janice Mann and husband Darrell of Bellepoint, Lillian Bourne and husband Roy of Morgantown, Patty Hamm and husband Doug of Norton, VA, Linda Adkins and husband Jack of Hinton, Marie Harris and Andy of Meadow Bridge, Debbie Bragg and husband Paul "Gig" of Hinton, Brenda Martin and Stuart of Nimitz, Kathy Harris and Alan of Hinton, Donna Gill and husband Jr. of Hinton, Junior Sears of Hinton, Rhonda "Boo" Shelton and husband Sanford of Ballard, Tammy Wuchevich and husband Nick of Ballard, Jay Sears and Detra of Hinton, Vicki Gunter and husband John of Hinton; thirty five grandchildren; thirty four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brother in law, Tommy Worles and wife Pat of Keyser; sister in law, Sissy Auripas and husband Joel of Hopewell, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, special neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery at Brooks. Friends may call from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be Jay Sears, Donald and Derrick Martin, Junior Gill, Richard Eades and Tommy Oxley. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Sears, Dick Bragg and Arnold Lee Johnson.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
