Drema Gail Ward Whitt, 58, of Ward Bench, Hix went home to be with the Lord, Saturday February 16, 2019 at her home following a short illness.
Born May 7, 1960 at Hix she was the daughter of the late Ebb and Goldie Bennett Ward. Drema was a former CNA at Summers Continuous Care Center and member of Chestnut Mt. Baptist Church. She enjoyed planting flowers, collecting jewelry, going to flea markets and thrift store, taking care of her animals and spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her sister, Freda Mae Cheeks; two brothers, Roger Henry and Carlos Marion Ward and one grandson, Dakota Cales.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Doug Whitt of Hix; one daughter, Tiffany Whitt Cales and husband Casey of Hix; two stepsons, Kevin D. Whitt of Alderson and Ryan W. Whitt and wife Erica of Sinking Creek; ten grandchildren, Makayla, Jordan, Nevaeh, Kasey and Brinleigh Cales, Lindsey, Sara, and Austin Whitt, Landon and Leslie Cales-Berkley; five brothers, Michael, Russell, Freddy, James and Donald Ray Ward; two sisters, Louise Richmond and Sue Graham and several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday February 22, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Bobby Cales officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitt-Cales Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 pm Thursday February 21, 2019 at the funeral parlors.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
