Donald Allen “Donnie” Reed, 84, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at his home following a short illness.

Born September 2, 1941 in Madams Creek he was the son of the late Allen and Macie Mooney Reed.

Donnie was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran who spent his entire working career in refrigeration and appliance repair. He was a former employee of Meadows Furniture Co. & Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors, Silo Ice, Maintenance Supervisor at the Hinton House Apartments and owner and operator of his own appliance repair service. Donnie was a man of faith and was involved in many community church activities.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta James Reed.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Patrick Reed; one sister, Janet Rush Woods and a special friend, Sandra Via.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton. Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
