Donald T. Farley, 69, of Indian Mills, died Monday, November 1, 2004 at his son?s residence in Florida. Born June 13, 1935 at Coal City, he was the son of Lennis Privett Farley of Forest Hill and the late Leslie Wilson Farley. He was a proud graduate of the class of ?53 at Stoco High School and a four year member of the varsity football squad. He was a devout Christian and a tireless church worker, having served as trustee, deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Men?s Bible class teacher. Don was a disabled coalminer, retiring from Westmoreland Coal Companys? Rife?s Branch. He was a member of the UMWA District 29. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Warren and Minerva Farley, maternal grandparents Andy and Madelyn Privett and his mother and father?in-law, Wesley and Oka Thompson. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Thompson Farley, three sons, Donald Mark Farley and wife Tammy of Nicholasville, KY, Daniel Lee Farley of Flagler Beach, FL and Steven Scott Farley and grandson Steven Don Farley of Rocky Mount, VA, two sisters; Marjorie Brunty and husband Duane of Forest Hill, and Jeanette Penix of Piney View, five brothers, Ronald Farley and wife Charlotte of Shawsville, VA, James Farley and wife Mabel of Loraine, OH, William Farley and wife Rhonda of Bim, Thomas Farley and wife Marie of Lindside and John Farley and wife Tammy of King?s Mountain, NC. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Prosperity with Pastors Darrell Hamm and Jeff Canterbury officiating. Friends may call at the mausoleum from 11:00 A.M. until funeral time on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Donald T. Farley Memorial Fund at the American Brain Tumor Associaton, 2720 River Road, Suite 146, Des Plaines, IL 60018. Honorary pallbearers: Lawrence Allen, Levio Boschain, Bill Hatfield, Eddie Jones, James Keatley, Calvin Martin, Emmett Moode, Darrell Thompson, Earl Turner, Franklin Williams and Blain Woodson.
