Dewey Palmer

Dewey Wayne Palmer, 61, of Danese formerly of Nimitz entered into eternal rest Sunday May 29, 2016 at Plateau Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Born January 23, 1955 at Hinton he was the son of the late Dewey J. and Deloris Yopp Palmer. Dewey was a former truck driver for Basham's Garage and construction worker with Slatton Construction. He enjoyed fishing, spending time in the outdoors and visiting with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Palmer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 42 years Dixie Lee Meadows Palmer; two sons, Michael W. Palmer of Charleston and Christopher Lee Palmer of Danese; eight grandchildren, Alec Wayne, Kaylee Lynn, Brayden and Emily Maddalinn "Maddi" Palmer, Alixis Bellamy, Nevaeh Burns, James "R.L." Meadows and Morgan Johnson-Palmer; one great granddaughter, Ahla Meadows; one brother, Gary Palmer of Lynchburg, VA; two sisters, Karen Peters and husband Calvin of Roanoke and Diana Palmer of Lynchburg, VA and two special nieces, Tiffany Campbell and Rachel Mann.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ray Crook officiating. Burial will follow in the Quesenberry Cemetery at Streeter. Friends may call from noon until time of services Saturday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
