Denver Carl Bias, 74, of Hinton passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born May 4, 1938 at Henlawson, West Virginia he was a son of the late Averal R. and Cleo White Bias.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hinton, a US Army Veteran and a retired custodian at Sharples High School. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening and caring for children.
Denver was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory include several nieces and nephews; special friends and adopted family, Ceceilia Curry of Hinton, Andy and Jackie Lawrence of North Carolina, Lewis and Edna McCoy of Virginia and Ressa and Scotty Cook of Hewitt, West Virginia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Reverend Dr. Barbara Romfo officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows Cemetery on New River Road. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
