Dale Edward “D.J.” Pettry Jr., 33, of Streeter went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 23, 2020 following a long illness.
Born November 10, 1987 at Fairfax, VA he was a son of Dale Edward Pettry Sr. and Nancy Sue Shrader Pettry of Streeter.
D.J. was a 2007 graduate of Summers County High School and a former Student of the Month at Jumping Branch Elementary. He loved all Bobcat sports but was an avid Lady Bobcat supporter with many girlfriends on the team. D.J. loved riding four wheelers, hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. He was a firm believer in Jesus Christ.
D.J. was preceded in death by one sister, Tiffany Rennea Pettry.
Besides his parents those left to cherish his memory include, one brother, Charles “Chucky” Romanello and wife Angie of Hinton; paternal grandmother, Patty Pettry Bailey of Streeter; nieces and nephews, Carley, Kaylie and Matthew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved dearly and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be private for the family with Elder Tommy Pack and Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the John W. Pack-Vest Cemetery. To ensure the health and safety of the family there will be a walk through visitation for D.J.’s friends Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Pack, Joseph Pack, Greg Williams, Timmy McGraw, Michael Taylor, Herman Pack, Tommy Miller, Will Taylor, Austin Taylor, Bryce Taylor, Kody Lilly, Nick Walters, Tommy Pettry, Charles “Chucky” Romanello, Sonny Stracener and Members of the Jumping Branch/Nimitz Volunteer Fire Department.
