Curtis E. Maddox, 81 of Hinton, a former resident of Turnersville, N.J. died Monday April 11, 2005 at his home following a long illness. Born November 6, 1923 in Halifax, N.C. he was a son of the late Edward W. and Hannah P. Bruton Maddox. A resident of Hinton since 1997 and a former employee of Super Tire Engineering of Pennsauken, N.J. and City Sign of Philadelphia, P.A. Curtis served his country in the United States Army during World War II where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Preceded in death by a son; Curtis Maddox Jr., and by five brothers and two sisters. Survived by his wife of 54 years; Anna Swann Maddox, one daughter; Rosanna Iadicola and her husband Steven of Milan, M.I., one devoted sister; Ophelia Smith of Danville, V.A., one nephew; Dennis Smith of Danville, V.A., and one niece; Lori McMinn of Woodstock, V.A. and other nieces and nephews. Per his wishes Curtis was cremated and no services will be held.
