Courtney B. Davis-Lyons, 41, of Jumping Branch passed away at home on April 3, 2020 from an extended illness.
Born October 20, 1978, she was the daughter of Benny E. and Marsha Cooper-Davis.
Courtney was a 1996 graduate of Summers County High School and a 2000 Honor graduate of Concord College. She spent seven years working as a financial counselor for Consumer Credit Counselling and Schewel’s Furniture. She also spent many years working as a substitute teacher for the Summers County School System.
Courtney was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents James “Garfield” and Margaret Meadows-Davis and maternal grandparents Harry Raymond and Margie “Eloise” Ratliff-Cooper.
In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory include her son Solomon Walker Lyons, her sister Valerie Davis-Johnson and husband J.C of Hinton, two nephews, Clark and Kyle Johnson of Hinton, one niece, Abigail Johnson-Richmond and husband Logan of Princeton, Solomon’s father, Willie Lyons of Jumping Branch, and special friends Rachel and Kaden Harper, Billy Boggs Jr., and Mark Williams.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private, family memorial will be set at a later date. She will be interred at Greenbrier Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Courtney’s name to the Ronald McDonald House, a charity that was very near and dear to her heart because of the time she spent there when her son was in the NICU.
