Corporal Harles D. Gill 26 of Hinton who was declared Missing in Action December 2, 1950 in Korea has been recovered 58 years after his death.

Born May 8, 1924 in Hinton he was the son of the late Lewis E. and Minnie Bennett Gill. Harles was a United States Army Veteran of World War II who reenlisted during the Korean Conflict. Prior to joining the armed service Mr. Gill served his country and the war effort working in a gun powder manufacturing plant in Baltimore, Maryland.

Preceded in death by one brother Robert Ray Gill in 1926

Corporal Gill was survived by his brother C.E. ?Ted? Gill who passed away on January 8, 1975.

He is survived by his sister Gladys Gill Iddings of Richmond, Virginia and his niece Darla Iddings Minton and her husband J. Andrew Minton of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Planeside military honors were rendered July 11, 2009 at Richmond International Airport.

Graveside services with full military funeral honors and burial will be held July 16, 2009 at 11 A.M. in the New Hope UMC Cemetery at Marie, West Virginia with Pastor Ron Iddings and Chaplin Gary Coffey LTC officiating.
