Claudia Ailene Blevins Smith

            Claudia Ailene Blevins Smith, 79, of Clayton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday August 9, 2022 at Summers Nursing and Rehab following a long illness.

            Born February 7, 1943 at Matoaka she was the daughter of the late Alonzo Napolean and Jossie May Lefler Blevins.  A homemaker who was formerly employed by the Hinton Dairy Queen and Summers Nursing and Rehab as a cook, she had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and attended the Pence Springs Community Church.  Enjoyed hunting, cooking, bird watching, flower gardening, writing letters, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.

            Besides her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Wilford Elliott Smith; two sons, Ernest “Ernie” Lee Smith and Wilford Elliott Smith Jr.; grandsons, Infant Waylon Robert McKee and  Virgil Dewey “Dee Cee” Cochran; daughter-in-law, Marlene Rolanda Martin and several brothers and sisters.

            Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Victoria Lynn Kesler and husband John David Kesler; daughter-in-law, Sybil Darlene Smith; grandchildren, Shenandoah Ailene Cochran (Jody), Kristen Dana Cales (Brent), Ariel Ann Smith (Greg), Riley James McKee (Amanda), Michael Elliott Smith, Jossie Lynn Smith and Dalton Elijah Lee Smith; great grandchildren, Daniel, Shenabelle, Juliette, Waylon, Mason and Abigail; brother-in-law, Lloyd B. Tincher; sisters-in-law, Leota Thompson and Frances Smith and special friends, Rhonda Crane, Jane Kesler, Bertie Grubb, Bonnie Harrah and Jim and Marsha Leitch.

            Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday August 16, 2022 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Roger Persinger officiating.  Burial will follow in the Clayton Baptist Church Cemetery.  Friends may call from noon until service time on Tuesday at the funeral parlors.

            Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
