Christopher Joseph Meador,73, joined our parents, Samuel Dewey Meador and Goldie Ghildine Kast, and our brothers Samuel (Sonny) Dewey Meador, III, and Richard Lewis Meador in their Heavenly home.

Chris was an employee of International Paper Company, managed several pizza establishments, briefly worked in the fish department of Farm Fresh and ended his working career with Markham Burial Vault Company.

He enjoyed a good cooked ham and a day fishing in equal measure. When he saw the need, he was the first to extend a helping hand, give a dollar, or defend the unjustly targeted. He thoroughly enjoyed children and watching others have a good time that he helped create. And YES, we actually got him to wear a tuxedo.

Chris is survived by sisters, Melody Meador-McKay Clark (Kenneth), M. Marie Meador (Billy Bryson), Karen Meador Garland (Chip); brother, Donald Linwood Conner (Vickie); nephews and nieces, Jeffrey Duane McKay, Amy Elizabeth McKay, Adam Daniel Meador, Tara Turner Croom, Wendolyn Meador White, Angela Meador Madrie, Adam David Meador, twins Caston Leigh Garland, Kallie Mae Garland, and Cameron Shields Garland. And a host of great nephews and nieces; special friend, Adam Lucas.

Chris will be laid to rest at the Lucas Family Cemetery. There will be no public services and a private family burial will be at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be in Richmond, VA in the near future.
