Charles Douglas Lucas Sr., 63, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord April 26, 2016 at following a long illness.
Born January 5, 1953 at Hinton he was the son of the late Elsworth and Mary Surber Lucas. Chuck was an honest, caring man, who devoted his life to his wife and children proving everyday why a father is his daughters' first love and his son's first hero.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy Trout and his brother, Bobby Lucas.
Those left to cherish each and every memory are his soulmate and wife of 38 years, Rebecca Lemon Lucas; five daughters, Tamara Trout and husband Timmy of Brooks, Christina Lucas of Hinton, Shannon Lucas of Pipestem, Patricia Lucas and companion Edward Blevins of Coal City and Samantha Gibson and husband Luke of Charleston; his only son, Charles Lucas Jr. and wife Sara of Jumping Branch; eighteen grandchildren, Dessaray Mills and husband Zachary, Gregory Trout, Megan and Angel Lucas, Ashley and Nikki Adkins, Kayla, Madison Hope and Gage Cales, Hunter and Logan Blevins, Justin and Jonah Zimmerman, Charles and Chase Lucas and Grantlee and Mary Gibson; one very special great-granddaughter, Sophia Mills; three sisters, Opal Lucas, Jeanie Snow and Janet Crawford and two brothers, James and Oliver Richards.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Keith Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Lucas Family Cemetery at True. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral parlors.
Timmy Trout, Jeff Trout, Zachary Mills, David Weikle, Keith Wayne Cales and Wayne Martin will serve as pallbearers.
Charles Lucas Jr., will serve as honorary pallbearer.
