Carmen Berry, 87, of Hinton passed away August 24, 2025, at Princeton Community Hospital following a short illness. Born August 9, 1938, in Long Bottom, she was the daughter of the late Wayman and Stella Adkins Berry.
She retired from Summers County ARH Hospital as a dietary cook with 40 years of service. Carmen loved cooking, gardening, going to the Summers Co. Senior Center and attended the Hinton Gospel Tabernacle as long as her health permitted.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death three brothers, eight sisters and her special son-in-law, Davie Madison.
Survived by one daughter, Romanda Madison; one sister, Corene Sears and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special family she viewed as her grandchildren and lovingly known as Granny C. by Keisha and J.R. Gill and their children; Madison McNicholas and her husband Ashton and Levi Gill; special family, Ray and Angie Crewey and their sons, John and Nick Crewey and Adam Bragg and dear friend, Margaret Nelson.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday August 30, 2025, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Robbie Merritt and John Sauvage officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton. Friends may call from noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral parlors.
Ashton McNicholas, J.R. Gill, Terry Fisher, Adam Bragg, Keith Bennett and John Crewey will serve as pallbearers.
Cecil Cox, Donald Bennett, Chuck Gwinn, Garry Wheeler and Jerry Wheeler will serve as honorary pallbearers.
