With a broken heart, we announce the passing of Carlos “Rockie” McMillion of Piney View, WV, on June 19th, 2022. We lost him to way to early and unexpectedly, at the age of 36.
He was born on May 30, 1986, in Beckley WV. He grew up playing football, baseball, karate, and wrestling. He was an all-star athlete; He won many awards while playing football at Shady Spring High School. As an adult He was a man of many trades, from concrete, oil rigs, construction, to the coal mines. He was working for Coal Construction at Wellmore Plant in Grundy, Virginia. They called him prep plant “Yeti”. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He loved his three children more than anything in this world: Cage, Cayne, and Callie.
Rockie was loved by many. He was a very loyal friend; he would give you the shirt off his back.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and teaching them new things. They enjoyed jumping off cliffs at his favorite swimming holes, swimming, hanging out at the river, and fishing.
He is survived by Mother Sheri Lynn McMillion, Sister Tabatha Ann Lindsey, and Children Cage Franklin McMillion, Cayne Fredrick McMillion, and Callie Brooke McMillion. He was proceeding in death by his Father Carlos “Knockie” McMillion, Grandfather Carlos McMillion Jr., and Grandmother Priscilla “Ann” Odell.
We will be having a memorial service honoring the life of Carlos “Rockie” McMillion on Friday July 22, 2022, from 5-7pm at Grandview State Park. We hope all who had the pleasure of knowing him can make it as we share our love and fondest memories of him. If you would like to wear something turquoise or teal in honor of Rockies favorite color.
