Carl Lee Foster

      Carl Lee Foster, 91, of Marie, went home to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Bowers Hospice House, surrounded by his family.

      Born July 25, 1932 at Marie, he was the only son of the late Robert Mason and Husie Belle Campbell Foster.

      Carl attended Freedom Baptist Church at Powley’s Creek, as long as health permitted.  He was a graduate of Forest Hill High School. Carl was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He was a retired truck driver for the WV Department of Highways, with 33 years of service (1993). Carl enjoyed listening to hymns, mowing grass, going for side by side rides, watching birds in his yard and spending time with his family.

      Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Jane Houchins Foster; two daughters, Cathy Vass and husband Richard of Manassas, VA and Cheryl Foster and Rick Frazier of Marie; one son, David Foster of Marie; six grandchildren, Scottie, Alicia, Jacob, Maggie, Daniel and Renae; several great grandchildren and a very special friend and caregiver, Nicole Duvall of Marie. 

      Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery at Forest Hill. Friends may call from 11:30 A.M. until time of services on Monday at the funeral parlors.  Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
