Billy Joe Willey Sr., 87, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord and reunited with his wife, son and family that preceded him on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at his home following a short illness.
Born July 13, 1938 in Hinton he was a son of the late John and Ethel Irene Dick Willey.
Bill served in the United States Army National Guard for 20 plus years. He was a former City of Hinton Police Officer and served as a volunteer fire fighter for Summers County Volunteer Fire Department Station 13. Bill was a mechanic and a carpenter who loved gardening, hunting and NASCAR Racing. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Mae Wiseman Willey; one son, Billy Joe Willey Jr.; daughter in law, Cathy Willey; three brothers, Bobby, Charles and Teddy Willey and two sisters, Edith Adkins and Eva Mae Allen.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Danny W. Willey and Randy D. Willey; four grandchildren, Paige Bowers and husband Liam and Todd Willey and wife Emily, Adreana Bower and husband Austin and Nicholas Willey and girlfriend Lakelyn; seven great grandchildren, Tucker, Maggie, Henry, Aiden, Waylon, Kasey and Everleigh; two daughters in law, Rhonda and Kim Willey; sister in law, Pearl Young; two special nephews, Bobby Willey and Dale Adkins and several other nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly as well as his special friends, Bobby Graham, Wayne Fox and the employees of Kroger in Hinton.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiseman Cemetery on Zion Mountain. Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral parlors. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Willey, Austin Bower, Seldom Withrow, Kevin Richmond, Todd Mounts and J.W. Wall.
