Benjamin Bragg

Benjamin Bragg, 45, of Nimitz died August 10, 2025, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born March 26, 1980, in Beckley he was the son of Kirby B. and Lisa Ellison Bragg of Nimitz.

Benjamin was a heavy equipment operator for Bluestone Coal Co. and a graduate of Summers County High School class of 1998. He was a kind person who truly cared about others. His last act of kindness was being an organ donor so that others could live.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Benny Paul Ellison; paternal grandparents, Aubrey and Thelma Campbell Bragg and his Uncle Jonathan Ellison.

He is survived by his two sons, Benjamin Bragg II and Noah Bragg and their mother Denise Bragg of Hinton; one brother, Seth Bragg and companion Amanda Hayhurst of Kingsport, TN; grandmother, Regina Keaton Ellison of Nimitz and his loving companion, Sara Lucas of Nimitz.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Thursday August 14, 2025, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Gary Trout officiating. Friends may call from 2:30 pm until service time on Thursday at the funeral parlors. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Lilly-Crews Cemetery.

The Bragg family expresses deep gratitude to the staff of CAMC General Intensive Care Trauma Unit and to his doctors Richard Umstot and Robert Crows.
