Barbara S. Ward

Barbara S. Ward, 69, of Hilldale passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her home following a long illness.

Born February 2, 1956 in Glade, WV she was the daughter of the late Verland and Doris Bennett Smith.

Barbara was a former desk clerk for Honey in the Rock Motel, a homemaker and enjoyed cookouts, rides through the country, as well as spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Combs and one brother, Ronald Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her life partner of 55 years, Gary Dale Ward; two sons, Jeffery D. Ward and companion Dianna Horton, Scottie L. Ward and companion Cindy Schuster; ten grandchildren, Santana, Brooklyn, Chelsea, Clay, Jeffery, Dustin, Kassie, Katlin, Chance and Melvin; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Phillips, Margaret Ward and husband Roy.

At Barbara’s request there will be no services and cremation services are being provided by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and Cremation Care Center.
