Avalon June Blevins, 83, of Clayton went home to be with the Lord, Saturday December 12, 2020 at her home following a long illness.
Born June 1, 1937 at Alderson she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Mary Vanhoy Burns.
She was a printer for DJR Printing Co., worked in housekeeping at Radford College, and a former sewing factory worker. Avalon enjoyed artwork, painting, and cooking. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
Preceding her in death include two sons, James and Gary Blevins; and three sisters, Rebecca Tincher, Carmen Bassin, and Gayle Spencer.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 56 years, Raymond Blevins; two daughters, Pamela Brumfield and Kimberly Black both of Clayton; five grandchildren, Lori Tibbes, Anita Bland, Erin Boyd, Scott Lawson, and Cory Graves; twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters, Vicky Williams and husband Raymond of Alderson and Sharon Crook of NC; and one brother, Ronald Burns and wife Arlene of Alderson.
Graveside services and burial will be 12:45 PM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Blevins Family Cemetery at Clayton with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating. Viewing will be at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM Tuesday prior to departure to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
