Arthur Jennings Ward, 62 of Elk Knob Road, Hinton, went to be with the Lord, Friday July 22, 2005 at 5:45 P.M. at his home following a long illness. Born July 25, 1942 at Hix he was a son of the late Hobart L. and Julie F. Ward Ward. Arthur attended the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and was a retired carpenter and electrician, former patrolman with the Hinton City Police Department, veteran of the United States Navy who was honorably discharged on Nov. 14. 1962, and was a avid hunter who loved the outdoors and his dogs Toby and Beauty. Preceded in death by four brothers: Norman, Cecil, Alvis â??Budâ??, and Moses Ward, one sister: Alice Ward Richmond. Survived by his wife: Deboriah â??Debbieâ?? A. Ward of Elk Knob Road, Hinton, two daughters: Nadine â??Pattyâ?? K. Ward of Chestnut Mountain and Karen Kann and husband Jeff of East Berlin, PA, one son: Timothy W. Ward of Chestnut Mountain, one stepson: Stephen C. Reed at home, one stepdaughter: Deboriah â?? Debbieâ?? E. Reed of Hinton, one brother: Elmer Ward of New York, one son-in-law: Rick Messinger of PA, two grandchildren: Samantha Mize and Kyle Messinger, former wife: Wanda M. Cales Ward of Chestnut Mountain, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins also survive. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church with Pastorâ??s Benny Allen and Clay Oâ??Dell officiating. Burial will follow in the Cecil Ward Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel and one hour prior to services at the Church. Pallbearers will be nephews: Hobart â??Dinoâ??, Clyde â??Old Manâ??, Oliver â??O.J.â??, and Harvey Wayne â??Puppyâ?? Ward, good friends: Harold â??Hopiâ?? Richmond, and Samuel Brackenrich. Honorary pallbearers will be good friends: Hobart Fox, Johnny Brackenrich, and Allen Brinegar. Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton
Viewing Information: 6-9 P.M. Tuesday at the Funeral Parlors.
Funeral Information: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
