Alec Ray Thornsbury, 33, of Hinton went home to be with his Heavenly Father on February 27, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following an accident at his home.
Born July 30, 1982 in Pineville he was the son of Larry Stafford of Pineville and Evelyn Kay Rose Burghy of Hinton. Alec was employed by Kroger Co. in Hinton for the past 14 years with his most recent position as backup head of the grocery dept., He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, 4 wheeler riding, playing video games and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Forrest and Nellie Mullins; maternal grandfather, Alec Rose; cousin, Joey Rose; stepfathers, Larry Burghy and Kerny Thornsbury; aunt, Dana Rose; nephews, Joseph Adkins and Dakota Cales.
Besides his parents he is survived by his wife of 12 years, Kristi Thornsbury; maternal grandmother, Katherine Rose of Pineville; father and mother-in-law, Roy and Ruth Adkins of Hinton; one brother, Anthony Trent and wife Tracie of Hinton; one sister, Jeanny Coleman and husband Thomas of Oceana; one aunt, Darlene Hurley of Pineville; five uncles, Tommy Rose and wife Betty of Lewisburg, Billy Ray Rose of Indian Creek, Jay Stafford of Pineville, Eddie Stafford and wife Sandra and Scott Stafford and wife Jocelyn of Daniels; brother-in-law, Roy Adkins and wife Jennifer; two sisters-in-law, Sommer Graham and husband Kevin and Becky Herold and husband Josh; nieces and nephews, Shea Hudgins and husband Andrew, Casey Cales and wife Tiffany, Beth Cales, Brianna Coleman, Stacie Logston and husband Maverick, Kevin Graham Jr., Cody and Bailey Herold, Alexis, Hunter, Colten, Addison and Aburey Adkins and Hannah and Brayden Adkins; great nieces and nephews, Brentlee Hudgins, Kadence and Christian Logston, Landon, Leslie, Makayla and Jordan Cales and a special brother, Frankie Adkins and wife Kim.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday March 3, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Robbie Merritt and Scott Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 pm Wednesday March 2, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel.
Roy Adkins, Maverick Logston, Josh Herold, Casey Cales, Joey Adams, Kevin Graham, Frankie Adkins and Todd Mounts will serve as pallbearers.
Kevin Graham Jr. and Cody Herold will serve as honorary pallbearers.
