Agnes Whanger Harvey, 80, of Hinton, a current resident of Greystone Inn at Beaver, died at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital at Beckley, following a brief illness.Born August 22, 1923 at Rovceverte, she was a daughter of the late Frank T. and Glenna Forren Whanger.Mrs. Harvey had lived most of her life in Hinton. She retired as a Registered Nurse from the Summers Co. Hospital in August of 1985. Mrs. Harvey had served most of her career at the Old Hinton Hospital. She was a member of the Hinton First United Methodist Church, the Hinton Woman?s Club and the Delphi Club.Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, E. C. ?Jack? Harvey June 13, 2004, one half brother, Elton Whanger and one half sister, Bessie Hicks.Survived by two sons; Tom Harvey and wife Linda of Lowell and Jack Harvey and wife Janice of Centreville, VA, one daughter, Ann Gore of Hinton, seven Grandchildren; Tom Harvey, Krista Fix, Rich Lytle, Karen and Matt Harvey, and Michael and Thomas Gore, two Great- Grandsons, Colton and Cade Fix, three brothers, The Rev. Wilbur Whanger of Missoula, MT, Merrel Whanger of Ronceverte and Buddy Whanger of Edgewood, MD.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Hinton First United Methodist Church with Pastor Walt Mullins and Rev. Ken Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens at Hinton. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadow Funeral Parlors in Hinton from 6-9 P.M. Thursday and at the church one hour prior to services. Her Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy should be made to the Hinton First United Methodist Church, 312 Ballengee St., Hinton, WV 25951.
