Velma Ruth Farley, 83, of Ellison passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born February 25, 1933 at Daniels, WV she was a daughter of the late Fred and Maggie Lester Reed.
She was a homemaker and a cook at Lilly Heights School at Ellison. Velma was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elree H. Farley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her four children, Samuel Farley and wife Joyce of Ellison, William Farley and wife Jerrie of Advance, NC, Randall Farley and wife Leta of Glace and Jeannie Berry and husband Roger of Live Oak, FL; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; six siblings, William Reed of MO, Pauline Meadows of Pipestem, Joyce Willey of NM, Freddie Reed of Cool Ridge, Betty Cooper of IL and Judy Foley of OH.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchfield Cemetery at Ellison. Friends may call from 10:00 until time of services at the funeral parlors on Friday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
