Roger Lee Richmond, 61, of Riverside Rest passed away Monday March 6, 2017 at his home following an apparent heart attack.
Born October 25, 1955 at Hinton he was a son of the late Jesse Arley and Syble Ann O'Bryan Richmond.
Roger was a lifelong resident of Summers County. He was a disabled Trackman for CSX Railway who enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Roger was preceded in death by two brothers, Arley Dean Richmond and Dennis Wayne Richmond.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Rhonda Sue Bennett Richmond at home; children, Jennifer Hanna and husband Rick of White Sulphur Springs, Eric Richmond and wife Christina of Boiling Springs, VA and Jeffrey Richmond and wife Anita of Clayton; grandchildren, Rick Hanna Jr. , Noah Hanna, Amelia Hanna, Eric Lee Richmond Jr., Kaden Richmond, Jamison Richmond and Evan Richmond; siblings, Anthony Richmond of Clayton, Carolyn Sue Walls and husband Daniel of Coal Mt., Connie Harper and husband Bernard of Prosperity, Sandy Richmond and husband Mark of Keeney Mt., Gerald "Purk" Richmond of Clayton, Ervin Richmond and wife Laura of Clayton; step grandson, Zachary Johnson; uncle, Edward "Pete" O'Bryan and wife Brenda of Marion, OH; aunt, Cora Lee O'Bryan of Columbus, OH and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Tempa Baptist Church with Pastors Bobby Reed and Grant Petitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery at Keeney Mt. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
