Opal Mae Lucas Hurley, 66, of Talcott passed away Tuesday July 11, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born October 10, 1950 at Hinton she was the daughter of the late Elsworth and Mary Surber Lucas. Opal was a former employee of Pipestem State Park with over 20 years of service. She had attended Rollynsburg Baptist Church and most recently Cooks Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, dancing and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Gene and Charles Lucas.
Survived by her daughter, Michelle L. Cook and friend David Riggs of Bluefield, granddaughter, Karen Cook of Bluefield, two brothers, James Richards of Whitsett, NC and Oliver Richards and wife Rosemary of Covington, VA; two sisters, Janet Crawford and husband Randy of Cool Ridge and Jeanie Snow and husband Joey of Talcott; sister-in-law, Becky Lucas of Hinton, eight nephews, eleven nieces, a very special cousin, Bobby Westfall and a special friend, Tammy Sears of Hinton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday July 15, 2017 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lucas Family Cemetery at True. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Friday July 14, 2017 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel.
Ray Farley, Charles Lucas Jr., Colton Reed, Wesley Hicks, Anthony Hicks and Andrew Richards will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
