Nannie Kounse

Nannie Pearl Kounse, 85, of Pence Springs went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Greenbrier Health Care Center following a long illness.
Born May 4, 1933 at Clayton she was the daughter of the late Paul and Gracie Farley Bowden. She was a long time member of Pence Springs Community Church. Nannie loved her family, home, community and was a help to everyone around her. She loved canning, going to church and was very faithful in the care of her mother for many years. Nannie always had a gift for you or served you a meal before you could leave her home, her dedication to hard work and staying busy is an inspiration to us all.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Kenneth Pat Kounse who passed away in 1988; two sisters, her twin Annie Canterbury and Mary Ellen Jones and her brother, Roy Bowden.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Delma Jean Holt and husband Iven; son, Kenneth Pat "Bucky" Kounse Jr.; two grandchildren, Susan Holt Green and husband Joel and Iven Victor "Vic" Holt Jr. and wife Anita; three great grandchildren, Timothy Joel "T.J." Green and wife Lexi, Avery Collin Holt and Lorelei Bell Holt; two great great grandchildren, Hallie Jane Green and Mia Jean Green; four siblings, Virginia Bowden Kidd, Margaret Cantley, Oasie Canterbury and Dorothy Lemaster.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday March 31, 2019 at the Pence Springs Community Church with Pastors Roger Persinger and Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery on Creamery Road. Friends may call from 6-9 pm Saturday March 30, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
Vic Holt, Joel Green, T.J. Green, Dale Hedrick, Steve Hedrick and Bob Cales will serve as pallbearers.
Paul, Everett and Wayne Canterbury will serve as honorary pallbearers.
