Cora Josephine "Josie" Lilly, 79, of Lexington, SC went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday March 24, 2019 peacefully in her sleep.
Born in Jumping Branch on June 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ray and Cora Alice Lilly. She was born mentally handicapped and had the heart of a young soul and a strong laughter that was very contagious. Josie left Jumping Branch in 1984 to be with her sister, Betty and family and is returning home to be laid to rest in her beautiful home of WV next to her mom and dad. Josie was a member of Capital City Baptist Church in Columbia, SC and loved her family dearly.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her step mother, Kennamae Lilly; one brother, Zane Lilly; two sisters, Peggy Keaton and Betty Moye.
Those left to cherish her memory include her family and guardians, Thomas J. Moye (Deborah P.), Jerry O Moye (Debi) all of Lexington, SC, Angie M. Harwell (Fiancé Claude Hyden) of Greenback, TN, and Karen Moye of Swansea, SC ; great niece, Kaydas Richards (Blane) of Swansea, SC, who also provided care for her; two sisters, Dorothy Mock of FL, and Retha Farley of Ohio; one brother, Billy Ray Lilly of Jumping Branch, and many nieces , nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews, cousins, and so many other loving family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Graveside service and burial will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Lilly-Crews Cemetery in Nimitz, WV with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery from 12:30 PM until time of services. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Capital City Baptist Church 2243 Percival Rd., Columbia, SC 29223.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
