Thomas Gill

June 7, 1984 — April 13, 2022

Thomas Alexander Gill, 37, (June 7, 1984 – April 13, 2022) formerly of Morgantown, died peacefully among family following an arduous fight with cancer.

Known for his humor and quick wit, Thomas’ lighthearted banter was often the highlight of Sunday dinners and family gatherings. During challenging times, he was calm and confident, providing comical relief to lower tension, fear or animosity of those around him.  He was humble, selfless, and giving- to his family first and foremost but also to complete strangers, abandoned animals, and lonely, reticent friends.

Thomas always had a unique perspective on life, often focusing on minute details in nature as triggers of silver linings – spring flowers after flooding and the rare visibility of cosmic bodies during power outages. His warm energy, infectious smile, tight hugs, and “hey fool” greetings are what we will remember most.

To Thomas, we say – you were loved, you are loved, and you will always be loved. We’re a wreck without you here but we will see you soon.

Preceded in death by one brother, Jamie Gill and maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Dawson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mom, Tammy Ramey; stepfather, Sanford Ramey; three sisters, Elizabeth Gill and husband Ernest, Jennifer Gill and Debra Richardson; five nephews; one niece and one special (brother) Ralph Ray.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
