Terry M. "Snookie" Meadows, 65, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 8, 2014 at his home following a short illness.
Born July 26, 1949 at Hinton, he was the son of the late Marlin M. Meadows and Donnie Ward Meadows.
Snookie was a former member of IUOE Local #132 as a drill operator. He was retired from Willey Brother's, Mountaineer Sanitation, and Summers Concrete Supply. He enjoyed muscle cars, collecting guns, restoring older vehicles, and spending time with family, friends, and his fellow firemen.
Snookie devoted a lot of his time to his community by serving as a volunteer fireman with Station 13 in Hinton. His dedication to the department resulted in his leadership as Fire Chief for many years.
He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Marlin and Marvin Meadows; one sister, Janice Ballard; and three brothers-in-law, Kenny Gilpin, David Foster, Wayne Bennett.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Patrick Meadows and wife Brenda of Madams Creek; one daughter, Brittany Meadows and companion Bucky Adkins of Madams Creek; special friend, Wanda Richmond and son Steven of Hilldale; four sisters, Bettie Gwinn and husband Darrell of Jumping Branch, Yonnie Bennett of Madams Creek, Wilma Rutter and husband Roy of Columbus, OH, Marlene "Chubby" Townsley and husband Paul of Danville; four granddaughters, Shawna Merriam, Emma Meadows, Alyssa Meadows, Madison Adkins; brother in law, William C. "Poody" Ballard; special little buddy, Jacob Richmond; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Terry Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
