Jessie Margaret Richmond Berry, 93, of Brooks passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Main Street Care following a long illness.
Born January 5, 1923 in Summers County she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Smith Richmond. She was a homemaker who loved children.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ralph Berry; an infant granddaughter, Jessica; daughter in law, Shirley Ann Berry and numerous brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her five children, Charles Berry of Brooks, Curtis Berry and wife Juanita of Freezeland Mtn., Edith Lilly and husband Kevin of Hilldale, Judy Adkins and husband Seymore of Freezeland Mtn. and Ralph Berry of Irish Mtn.; eight grandchildren, Kathy Berry, whom she raised, Leanne Adkins, Brian Adkins, Kevin Adkins, Amy Mutter, Dennis Bragg, Martha Ann Lilly and Margaret Marie Berry; four great grandchildren, Jayden Bragg, Abigail Armstrong, Alex and Kayla Mutter; two great great grandchildren, Tyler and Jesiah Armstrong; three sisters, Anna Berry of Brooks, Ethel Shaw of Bluefield, VA, Edith Smith of TX; two brothers, Jennings Richmond of Brooks and Jim Richmond of Ballengee and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel. Burial will follow in the Berry-Adkins Cemetery on Freezeland Mtn. Friends may call from noon until time of services at the funeral parlors on Monday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
