Bessie Yancey

Bessie Pack Yancey, 93, of Bellepoint entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
Born February 27, 1923 in Summers Co. she was a daughter of the late James Edward and Lutishie Lou Daniels Lucas.
Bessie was a member of the Bellepoint Baptist Church, a former employee of the Summers County Council on Aging and a homemaker. She loved gardening and her passion was quilting as well as spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Bessie was a lifelong resident of Summers County and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Pack; second husband, William Emmett Yancey; two brothers, Mason Daniels and James Lucas; three sisters, Georgia Leslie, Mildred Lucas, and Melinda Bragg.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Jerry Pack and wife Teresa and their son, Jason Pack and wife Rachel all of Gillsville, GA; Donald Pack and wife Darla of Jefferson, GA and their children, Donna Pack of NY, Diana Lance of Windu, GA, Jaclin Baxley and husband Tony and Henry Lance Jr. and wife Jessica both of Jefferson, GA; Virginia "Betty" Arnold of Princeton and her children, Robert and Michelle Payne, and Barbara Cecil and companion Larry all of Princeton, Chris Ann Payne of Wytheville, VA, and Derek Payne and wife Tessa of Lindside; William E. Yancey Jr. and Maria of Gardenia, CA and their children, Carmelia, Vanessa, William, and James Yancey all of Gardenia, CA; Barbara Martin and husband Gordon of Bland, VA and their children, Billy Basham and wife Missy of Christiansburg, VA, Randy Ward and wife Ashley and Ronnie Ward both of Bland, VA; Ronald Yancey of Indian Mills and his children, Vicki Dent and husband Bucky of Red Sulphur and Joseph Yancey and wife Catie of Indian Mills. Numerous great, great great, great great great, great great great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday January 3, 2017 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral parlors. Grandsons, family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
